Wolf is a nickname given to one of the Combat Sambo practitioners in Psykio's arcade fighting game Battle K-Road, converted to Mugen by The_None in 2010. One of the author's few grappler-type characters, the character is also one of few forays into more old-school kind of gameplay that relies on links as much as chains for combos.

While the character is actually based on the Russian martial artist Volk Han, the character's resemblance to Sylvester Stallone prompted the converter to prep with references to the action movie star's career.

Gameplay Edit

Wolf is a character who excels at pressuring his opponent with his great pokes that can easily link or chain into knockdown. He can thwart attempts to get out of pressure with his Cash special that dizzies his opponents on hit. He is capable of dealing at least half of the opponent's lifebar worth of damage in a well placed corner combo. Using Wolf to his full potential requires good timing, as he is rather reliant on chains and links. However, used correctly, he can dominate almost any opponent with ease. He needs to be careful with aerial play as he's not able to block however.

Wolf's juggling has a 3 move limit (including kicking the downed opponent with a crouching roundhouse which would take up a juggle point), though few of his moves are extempt from the Juggle limits. His sole power stock charges really fast, but it also deplets itself at the start of every round.

Movelist Edit

Cash
Command QCBPlusP
Properties Stuns the opponent (if used raw), knockdown (if used in a chain combo)
Description A finger eye poke that stuns opponents if used raw. As dangerous as the stun can be when it happens, the move is rather punishable on block. Button strength decides the lag time and travel distance of the move as well as the damage.

Tango
Command QCBPlusK
Properties Knockdown
Description An axe kick that knocks opponents up on hit. Primarly a juggle starter, it can also see some use as an anti-air as well with it's decent priority around his leg. Button strength decides the travel distance and the lagtime.

Over The Top
Command FDDFPlusP
Properties Throw, unblockable mid-air, knockdown
Notes unaffected by the juggle limit
Description A Sambist piledriver, it sees use as an anti-air as well as a juggle ender. The button strength decides on the angle of the move, with PX floating straight forward and PZ going a heavy diagonal angle.

Kangaroo Kick
Command HCBPlusK
Properties knockdown (if used at close distance, always on the KC version)
Description This attack travels a bit of distance and on hit (provided it wasn't already used in a combo - to prevent easy infinites - or used too close) leaves with enough hitstun to allow another link combo. It also has a role as a juggle and anti-air move, although it's startup and the travel distance enforces jump-in prediction. Before the kick it has low enough hitbox to go through some attacks, including projectiles. KA and KB versions propel Wolf forward about half-screen and allow links, while the KC version has him travel across the entire screen and knocks down opponents.
Cobra
Command HCFPlusP
Properties Overhead, Throw, knockdown, doesn't hit aerial opponents
Description A shoulder charge that pummels opponents into the ground on hit. The button strength dictates the lag time and travel distance of the move.
