Omega Tiger Woods refers to a joke character conceived and made by an author known as Most_Mysterious back when he first released it in 2005, eventually receiving few updates in 2008 and 2012 by the same author now known as The_None, made out of Most_Mysterious's tendency to shove in that running gag on his creations before eventually making it as a full-blown boss character. As the name suggests, he's a very loose superpowered representation of a noted american professional golfer. Unlike a certain other Omega Celebrity however, this character is perfectly hittable (as a matter of fact, more vurnerable as the average character as per details in a section below) and defeatable, although it's not uncommon to get an otherwise impression with an array of attacks that require unique tactics (usually not grasped by the common opponent AI) to get around with.

Gameplay Edit

Intended to be a boss character, OTW has a rather unorthodox playstyle. His posture is highly unstable as his crouch and jump stances are pretty small compared to his tall standing stance. He has access to assist attacks in the form of air strikes dropped in the position marked by the moving targeting laser as well as a crane that can disrupt and pick up his opponents. He does have a weakness in the form of not being able to guard attacks and recover from fall.

Movelist Edit

EXPLOSIVE GOLF TEE STRIKE
Command KA
Properties Knockdown, Unblockable, Projectile, Rare Randomization
Description A Golf Tee is dropped in the position of the targeting laser. It's explosion is unblockable. It has a random change of taking the appearance of the G-Man from Half-Life series, but that alternation bears no effect to it's behaviour.
Trivia These were just called missiles/bombs in the first release, eventually nicknamed by various people as "exploding golf tees" due to the shape of these missiles and thus the name stuck.

A statement on Mines
Command KB
Properties Unblockable, Projectile, Knockdown, Rare Randomization
Description A Golf Tee is dropped in the position of the targeting laser and upon contact with the land morphs into a mine that explodes either after few seconds pass or upon close proximity with the opponent. Still has a chance to have a G-Man come out instead, but this time after hitting the ground the G-Man ponders the area and walks off-screen in one direction.
Crane Attack
Command KC
Properties Projectile, Grab, Unblockable, Knockdown
Description A crane comes out of from the top of the screen and proceeds to slowly follow the opponent for a while before going for the pick-up. Shall the pick-up succeed, the crane would then proceed to lift the opponent to the top of the screen and drop him/her from there for a massive fall damage.
Man Dies Jumping On His Head
Command QCFP
Properties Low blockable (on earthquake), Knockdown
Description OTW jumps on his head, ensuring a low-blockable quake as he lands on his head. The button strength determines the arc of the jump.
Trivia In pre-2012 versions the move was named Large Skull

Man Dies Jumping From The Bridge
Command BDDBP
Properties Knockdown, Low-blockable (Earthquake)
Description A variation of Man Dies Jumping On His Head that has OTW jump to his side of the wall then wall-jump on his head into a position determined by the button strength.
Nike Dohma
Command QCBP
Properties Projectiles
Description OTW lifts his shirt up, revealing a black hole that shoots out grayscale Apocalypse heads. The button strength determines the pattern.
Trivia In pre-2012 versions the move was named Heads from Hell

HERE COMES THE AIRPLANE, PSHEEEEEW
Command FDDFP
Properties Knockdown
Description OTW flies off the sky (with the button strength determining the angle of the flight), just to come out of a side of the screen flying to the other before teleporting back to the ground. During the second flight he can press PZ to do a loop.
Trivia This move is a reference to a custom move in done Fighter Maker for the Playstation depicted in this video

Super Moves Edit

All of the character's super moves require at least one and a half of power stocks. Because of this unusual requirement, the character's idle stance is altered when he gets enough power to perform a super for the purpose of indicating that.

Shrimp Bus
Command QCFPPlusP
Prerequisites 1.5 Power Stocks
Properties Projectile, Unblockable (with the exception of the Gutsman's Ass), Randomized
Description OTW summons an unblockable speeding bus that can be generally circumvented by jumping over it. It has a random chance of the bus being replaced by either a speeding David Haselhoff (not much of functional differences aside of a hitbox) or a speeding Gutsman's Ass (much faster than the other variants but also actually blockable).
Trivia Around the time the character was first developed Most_Mysterious did not actually realize that scaling the helpers have no effect on their hitboxes, thus the attack box of the Shrimp Bus (with a 240p res spite from an otherwise 480p resolution character) only covers it's hood. The oversight was kept in later updates for balance reasons.

Armageddon
Command QCBPPlusP
Properties Projectiles, Knockdown, Unblockable
Description OTW casts a rain of random position golf tee strikes. While sure to break his opponent's guard, high damage output is not always guaranteed.
Mike Dawson's Greatest Hits
Command PXPlusPYPlusPZ
Properties Grab, Low-blockable
Description OTW's head explodes mid-sentence and his now headless body proceeds to retreat to it's side of screen to get a new head. If the opponent is caught in the explosion, OTW's body would use the opponent himself/herself as the head replacement before rejecting him/her violently.

Trivia Edit

  • The golf tees were just called missiles/bombs in the first release, eventually nicknamed by various people as "exploding golf tees" due to the shape of these missiles and thus the name stuck.
  • At the time Most_Mysterious did not actually realize that scaling the helpers have no effect on their hitboxes, thus the attack box of the Shrimp Bus (with a 240p res spite from an otherwise 480p resolution character) only covers it's hood. The oversight was kept in later updates for balance reasons.
  • The readme of the 2008 update hinted a backdash named MOST USELESS MOVE EVAR, but was not implemented in that version. The backdash was eventually implemented in the 2012 update.
  • The_None was frustrated with the troubled development of the Giygas update he was (struggling to) developing alongside the 2012 update of Omega Tiger Woods. This especially shows in OTW's Mugen 1.0 winquotes as well as in a darker direction he took with the 2012 update, shaping it more as a horror creature.
