Esmeralda is a character from the manga series Saint Seiya. She was converted into a M.U.G.E.N character by Tecla2000. Her sprites, based off Athena's appearance from The King of Fighters 2002, as well as some other characters from that series, were designed by Shunchain.
Gameplay[]
Esmeralda is a very basic fighter character. She shoots fiery Phoenix birds out from behind her. She has an uppercut similar to Iori's from the King of Fighters, and she has several spinkicks.
One of her most infamous moves is a counter super she has, in which, after being struck, she faints to the ground, and Phoenix Ikki, her boyfriend comes out to take revenge, in the form of a full-screen, high damaging super, usually resulting in a OHKO. In this early tier list for SaltyBet, the writer jokingly lists "'Esmeralda's Boyfriend'" a tier above Esmeralda herself.
